SOUTH CAROLINA QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIATION
OPEN HORSE SHOW AWARDS PROGRAM – 2008
All open, non-rated shows will count for points, regardless of location.
Membership in the South Carolina Quarter Horse Association is required. Both horse’s owner and rider must be a member. The horse must registered with AQHA.
Points can be earned in two categories –Adult Rider/ Horse Combination, and Youth Rider/Horse Combination.
The category in which you wish your points to be tabulated must be specified on the nomination form. You may enter in up to two categories.
Points will not be tabulated until membership is verified as paid.
Points will be tabulated in
this manner: You will receive 1 point for every horse that you place ahead of
in your class along with 1 point for yourself.
There is a maximum of 9 points in each class. For example if there were 10 in
the class and you place first, you will receive 9 points for that class. If you
placed second you would receive 8 points. If there were 5 in the class and you
placed first, you would receive 5 points.
There are no
additional points for championship classes.
You must list the number of horses shown in the class for points to be tabulated.
Forms must be signed and returned within 30 days after the show for points to count. Award year will run from Jan. 1 to Oct. 31st each year. Please keep track of your own points in case of discrepancies; however, in cases of discrepancies the decision of the Awards committee is final.
The top two places in both categories will receive a year end award. Certificates of Achievement will be awarded to all who compete.
